According to officials, they had recently returned from Syria and were planning attacks on Belgian police. A third suspect, who was wounded in the attack, has been arrested.  According to local media, a search following the raid revealed four Kalashnikovs, bomb-making equipment and police clothing. Security forces are now stationed in the area and overnight searches also took place in the Brussels area.  The rise in the terror threat level was announced by prosecutor Eric Van Der Sypt. He said: “The suspects immediately and for several minutes opened fire with military weaponry and handguns on the special units of the federal police before they were neutralised.”  Belgian authorities are expected to provide more details at a briefing later today.  More From Our Partners A ProPublica investigation has caused outrage in the U.S. this weekvaluewalk.comBrave 7-Year-old Boy Swims an Hour to Rescue His Dad and Little Sistergoodnewsnetwork.orgI blew off Adam Sandler 22 years ago — and it’s my biggest regretnypost.comRussell Wilson, AOC among many voicing support for Naomi Osakacbsnews.comKiller drone ‘hunted down a human target’ without being told tonypost.comAstounding Fossil Discovery in California After Man Looks Closelygoodnewsnetwork.orgWhy people are finding dryer sheets in their mailboxesnypost.comNative American Tribe Gets Back Sacred Island Taken 160 Years Agogoodnewsnetwork.orgPolice Capture Elusive Tiger Poacher After 20 Years of Pursuing the Tags: NULLlast_img read more
